Without this type of acceptance, religion becomes divisive. Religion and politics are the balance that must be found between the conflicting ideals that religion represents. The separation of church and state may be the answer, but many people in power are afraid to push the limits.Political parties can also impact the way that people think about religion and politics. Since so many people live in fear, many political candidates have taken stances that hinder the cause of religion. By presenting a more secular and highly positive side of religion, these same candidates are then able to gain support from their base. It can take a while for these religious beliefs to be properly accepted, but with patience, it is possible.
